Our Mission
Graceful Speech, a private fee-for-service speech therapy and academic tutoring center in San Jose, opened its doors at the end of July 2007 and opened a second office in Los Gatos on April 1, 2009.
Our mission is to help children and adults learn how to learn and use language to help them meet their educational, social, and professional goals.
What is learning therapy?
Many people and children of all different types of educational backgrounds do not learn efficiently. Some have learning style differences and others have mild to severe learning disabilities. Graceful Speech provides assessment and instruction for “how to learn.” This differs from traditional tutoring in that we do not help a child finish their homework or learn only the concept or vocabulary to pass a test. We teach the individual how to learn by using multi-sensory techniques, strengthening memory and visual skills, and other learning strategies that have been shown through research to help people learn more efficiently.
